How do we judge a face? What makes someone look like a ‘mug’? And why are some mugshots so alluring? Sinners at Dark Gallery CPH invites you to confront your own biases, challenging the way we perceive guilt, innocence, and attraction.
From 1-15 March at Dark Gallery CPH
Thu-Fri 14:00-17:00 | Sat-Sun 13:00-16:00
Free admission
Gallery visitors are challenged to distinguish between the innocent and the guilty from a wall of mugshots. Some of these images are generated by Artificial intelligence (AI), depicting people who do not even exist. How often are you deceived, and how effectively does artificial intelligence exploit our pre-conceived notions? The true stories behind the mugshots are revealed by Augmented Reality (AR) on your phone when you scan each image.
On the opposite wall, visitors are asked to identify which of the ‘jailbirds’ they find too sexy for their shirt. But will learning about their actual crimes, revealed by scanning the images, alter your attraction?
Beyond exploring how appearances shape our judgments—whether evoking attraction or repulsion—gallery visitors are invited to create their own mugshots. By tagging #sinnerscph (@dave_feral) in their social media post or comment, they can enter a competition for a free AI workshop with Dave Feral.
